About You
Hey Mountain Mover, you are amazing.
Look at what you've endured; think about the time and intention God took to put you together in your mother's womb, not to mention the whole dying on the cross for you thing. God values you, and so do I.
We think very highly of you, and we hope you've taken the time to think highly of yourself today.
This is not boasting, and we aren't trying to butter you up, so you'll join us. We actually think you should wait until you get to know us better before subscribing, but more on that later.
About You - Straight from the Bible
There are several scriptures that talk specifically to you about who you are. For the most part we skip over those scriptures instead of applying them to the ideologies that shape the way we see and interact with our identity.
Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
Psalms 139:13-14 are well known and most people can finish the scripture if someone else started reciting them. Yet I'm not sure if we take the time to consider the type of revelation David had about God.
David is not the only person God knitted together, nor is he the only one that is fearfully and wonderfully made. So are you.
Man in Our Image, After Our likeness
Being made in the image and likeness of God is the second most profound truth I live with everyday (Genesis 1:26). Regardless of what translation you have the text is clear that God decided to make us in His image and His likeness. You are an intentional decision from the all-knowing, all-powerful, ever-present God.
He did not make us in the likeness of the beast of the field, or the herbs of the land, or the animals of the sea.
He made us like Him.
We can fly yet we have no wings, move at over 100 mph with only two feet (and many people only have one foot), and swim yet the sea did not bring us forth.
If just for a moment you considered all that God is and will always be, you may find yourself in awe of His decision to make us like Himself.
For it is by Grace
God has grace for who you are today because He fully intends for you to become who He made you to be. We did nothing to earn grace, it is truly a gift (Ephesians 2:8-10, read the whole chapter).
For you, with your awesome self, it means that you don't have to worry about being perfect. This gift from God is intentionally a gift. God did not want anyone to boast, which also means He did not want anyone to boast over you.
Accept the grace, exercise your faith, and relish in another intentional decision made by God just for you (and you know everyone else, but you get the point).
God proves His Love
The most profound lesson God has taught me, is that He loves me. It is a pretty big deal that God would put His word on the cross to save you and me (and you know everyone else).
I cannot understand this love, but this I will always know for sure - God loves you.
You are loved and that just is what it is.
Joining the Journey
You will see subscribe buttons and reminders all over this website. Majority of them are there because I haven't figured out how to remove them.
At Coveted Words, we invite everyone to join the journey. However, it is not lost on us that time is something we can never return.
Also not everything is for everyone.
Poke around and see if we are a good fit for where you are on your journey. If not now, then maybe we'll pop up on your radar in another season.
We understand and support: Your freedom to have things in your life that bring you closer to God, Your judgement as to what feeds your spirit versus what doesn't, and that you would need to take some time to get to know us before committing.
We'll be here whenever you're ready. π
